Chau Doc travel budget: a worksheet without stale prices
There is no single useful daily price for every Chau Doc trip. Start with your confirmed people, days, hotel nights and route, then obtain current quotes. A family sharing a room and vehicle cannot use the same per-person calculation as a solo traveller booking every item separately.

Write the units before the amounts
Record adults, children and any age-based conditions requested by the supplier. Write travel days and booked accommodation nights separately: three days do not establish two nights unless that is your actual plan. Keep the chosen currency unchanged and label whether each amount is per person, room, vehicle or group.
Separate shared and individual costs
Create rows for travel to Chau Doc, local transfers, rooms, meals, attraction or activity charges, optional shopping and a contingency. For a shared vehicle, multiply the vehicle quote by booked journeys, not by passengers. For rooms, multiply the room rate by rooms and confirmed nights, then check mandatory extras.
Calculate the trip before the daily average
Group total equals confirmed shared costs plus all individual costs plus your chosen contingency. Divide only the relevant shared items when estimating a person’s share; children may have different charges. A per-day figure is the trip total divided by the stated travel days, not by hotel nights.
Compare quotes on the same scope
Ask whether a transfer includes the last leg to your accommodation, waiting, parking and the return. For an excursion, distinguish transport, entrance, boat activities and a guide. A lower headline quote can cost more when these are added. Keep the quote date and change conditions beside the amount.
Save by changing the plan, not essential safeguards
Reduce backtracking, choose one mountain area and remove an optional extra before sacrificing a suitable room or safe transport. Compare staying near the river with staying near Nui Sam using the transfers your own route requires. A cheaper room farther away may create additional journeys and waiting.
Recheck what remains uncertain
Mark every unconfirmed amount as pending rather than entering zero. Before booking, update fares, room conditions and any activity prices directly with the supplier. Keep purchases and offerings optional in a separate allowance; they are not compulsory components of experiencing Chau Doc’s culture.
