Planning a Lý Sơn budget: separate transfers, rooms and reserve

A total becomes useful only when its scope is clear. Count travellers, days and nights, list each transport leg and distinguish committed payments from a reserve. The example below allocates money for planning; it is not a current price list, a package quote or a promise that the amount will cover your dates.

Start with every transport leg

Include the mainland journey to Sa Kỳ, both mainland ferry directions and transport between the island port and your lodging. Add Đảo Lớn–Đảo Bé separately if you choose it, together with transport needed at either end. Ask whether a quoted vehicle charge is per person, per vehicle or per journey. Write down return travel explicitly so it cannot disappear inside an attractive outward price.

One allocation with exact arithmetic

For two adults over three days and two nights, an illustrative 6,000,000 VND allocation is: transport 2,100,000; accommodation 1,500,000; food 1,200,000; activities 600,000; reserve 600,000. The five amounts total exactly 6,000,000 VND. They are spending envelopes chosen for this example, not verified fares, room rates or meal prices, and should be replaced with your actual quotations.

Test the quotes against your group

Check that the room quote covers two nights and the intended beds, and that meal allowances cover the meals your arrival and departure permit. Ask whether drinks, cooking charges, pickup, waiting time and optional activities are included. Do not automatically divide every cost by two: a private car or room may be charged as a unit, while tickets may be personal.

Give the reserve a purpose

Keep the buffer available for a changed sailing, an extra mainland night or a replacement transfer rather than spending it in advance. Cancellation and refund rules can alter how much cash is tied up even when a payment is eventually returned. Compare a tour against the same categories and record excluded items. Recalculate the total after any change in party size, room nights or island-to-island plans.
