Lý Sơn ferry documents: names, passports and children's tickets
Document preparation begins with the operator of the departure you intend to use. Ticket forms, acceptable documents and fare categories can differ, so a rule quoted for one company should not become a rule for the entire route. Make a passenger list before paying and check every name against the identity document that person will carry.

Vietnamese adult passengers
Ask which original identification and document formats the operating carrier and port currently accept. Enter names, birth dates and identity numbers carefully, then compare the issued ticket with the document. Where a name or number is wrong, resolve it before reaching the pier and ask whether correction has a fee or deadline. Do not assume a phone photograph always replaces the required document.
International passengers
Carry the original passport and ask the carrier what entry-status or visa evidence applies to your circumstances. The answer depends on the traveller and current requirements; this article does not establish that every nationality needs a visa or a separate island permit. If booking through an agent, request written confirmation of what must be presented to the actual operating company.
Children and accompanying adults
Confirm the accepted child document, how the child's name and birth date should appear, and the applicable ticket category. Ask whether a separate seat and any accompanying-adult evidence are needed for your booking. Do not apply another company's age bands. Keep the child's documents with the responsible adult rather than in checked or awkwardly stored luggage.
A final check for both journeys
Save tickets offline, protect originals from spray and keep a backup copy separately. Verify requirements again if you change carrier or add the separate Đảo Bé boat. A booking portal remaining online does not mean its departures operate: the 3 November 2026 Phú Quốc Express check showed a maintenance pause since 15 September 2026, limited to that provider.
