One Hotel Base or Hotel Changes: Compare the Whole Day
Keeping one hotel means fewer packing sessions; changing accommodation may put you closer to your next priorities. Neither approach automatically saves money or effort. Compare complete days, including the journey back to a base or the practical work of moving to another room.

Mark your must-do outings and exact accommodation addresses on a map. For one base, examine the outward and return journeys for each outing, not just the hotel’s destination label. For a move, compare the route to the next accommodation and what you would actually do along the way. Ask for realistic transfer arrangements rather than treating a map estimate as a promise.
Give a moving day its own plan: packing, checkout, collecting everyone, loading bags, travel and checking in again. Confirm when you must leave the first room and when the next room is available. Ask each property about luggage storage, charges and access to facilities while waiting. Do not assume early arrival guarantees a ready room or a place to leave bags.
Use your party’s routine to judge the trade-off. One base may suit a child’s nap or a relative who wants a familiar place to rest; a well-placed move may avoid repeating an inconvenient return trip. Consider who carries bags, stairs and vehicle space. Leave the moving day lighter if repacking and room handovers would exhaust your group.
Compare the full accommodation totals plus confirmed transport and any storage or room-timing charges. Check change and cancellation terms separately for every reservation; no single refund rule applies to all offers. Ask VietnamGuide to compare a one-base version with a limited-moves version using your actual outings, companions and luggage before you book.
