Vung Tau areas: understand the peninsula before booking
Plan Vũng Tàu by coastal areas rather than treating every place with that name as one neighborhood. Front Beach, Back Beach and Bãi Dâu offer different bases; Hồ Tràm and Long Hải are separate destinations, not nearby stops on a central waterfront walk.

Read names on current and older maps
Since the 2025 administrative reorganization, the Vũng Tàu tourism area belongs to Ho Chi Minh City. The peninsula is not identical to the present ward named Vũng Tàu: accommodation and attractions can fall under other wards, including Tam Thắng. Older addresses may still say Vũng Tàu City, Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu Province. Match the property’s map pin, street and entrance, rather than rejecting or trusting an address solely because of its old wording.
Build two coastal clusters
Front Beach faces a bay with an urban waterfront; White Palace lies along the Trần Phú side of this area. Back Beach follows the Thùy Vân coast, with the southern end leading toward Nghinh Phong and views toward Hòn Bà. Núi Nhỏ, the Small Mountain, contains the lighthouse and Christ statue area; Núi Lớn, the Large Mountain, is a different hill. A pin on the same mountain does not prove an easy path between attractions.
Choose your base, then test the route
For beach-focused mornings, inspect a Back Beach property’s actual crossing and entrance. For waterfront walks and cultural stops, compare the Front Beach side. Consider Bãi Dâu for a coastal stay only after checking the slope, nearby meals and transport. Save your accommodation entrance and return pickup point before departure. Keep Hồ Tràm or Long Hải for a deliberate destination choice; adding them casually can turn a short peninsula break into a driving trip.
